On the opening night of the Frankfurt Bookfair, for the second time, the ‘Global Illustration Awards’ (GIA) were conferred at a festive ceremony with much music and dancing. For the first time, a Grand Award was also given. The top prize winner receives 6,000 euros, while winners of the Gold Award and Excellence Award receive, respectively, 2,000 euros and 1,000 euros each.
