Heatset inks

are quick drying inks. The solvents are vaporized as they pass through a heating chamber, leaving the pigment and binding resins fixed to the paper in such a manner that there is no chance for ink to spread or excessive penetration into the paper. Therefore, presses must be equipped with a heating unit and exhaust system to drive off the solvents, and chill rolls to cool the heated resins
